An interview with Victoria Danila, founder of Davitex Neo SRL

I am the founder of Davitex Neo SRL, a company that produces clothing for premature babies in an innovative way that helps to reduce the textile sector’s environmental footprint.

Journey into the Sustainable Energy/Climate Sector

The fashion industry has become one of the biggest sources of pollution on the planet. The latest studies show that over 2,000 clothes are thrown away every second. Almost 90% of textile fibers from clothes and garments are incinerated or sent to landfills.

Determined to take action, I founded Davitex Neo SRL. The company’s innovation focuses on efficient water consumption. The solution provides an intelligent system that allows for the saving of water in all technological processes with the implementation of modern devices and technologies, which save a large volume of water in the process of pre-washing or washing the product.

Once installed in the utility (disinfection devices and manufacturing equipment) to obtain sustainable clothes, the technology brings significant solutions for the protection of the environment, the efficiency of water and energy consumption in the textile industry.

Vision for Equal Access to Finance

This innovative concept is looking for financiers. In order to obtain financing, we participate in events within the framework of circular economy programs. We will also apply to other programs identifying innovative solutions with a positive impact on the environment and society.

Role of Women in Climate and Energy Tech

According to several programs that focus on empowering women-led enterprises, the number of women entrepreneurs has increased worldwide. Nevertheless, I consider it important that women continue to be supported with targeted interventions that help them grow professionally and develop their business and technical skills.

Business accelerators are extremely beneficial for women-led start-ups, helping them to advance their innovative ideas, develop robust business models, refine their pitching skills as well as receive additional funding, if selected as winners. One of such initiatives is the GCIP Program, led by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) with the support of the Global Environment Facility and the Green Climate Fund. GCIP helps early-stage innovators in emerging markets and developing economies to commercialize their technologies and find investment and partnership opportunities.

Advice to Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs

I urge women with spirit and initiative to contribute to the growth and development of their region. Each of you can help make a better and cleaner future.

So, believe in your own strength and have the courage to step forward to make your dreams come true.

Dear women: fight, embrace your emotions (fears, joys), listen to your heart, believe in yourself and don’t forget everything starts from the first step.
